Show Notes

“If you have thyroid health issues and you’re only taking medication, you’re cheating yourself out of feeling much better than you do.” -  Annabel Bateman

The best thing you can do for your health is to take a holistic approach. Optimizing your diet and lifestyle and taking medication where necessary allows you to succeed on your thyroid healing journey.

Annabel Bateman is a Hashimoto’s patient, author, advocate, and coach. She has learned in 25+ years of living with Hashimoto's that developing a lifestyle that supports (and doesn't stress) her thyroid health is key. Drawing on skills learned in previous careers as a lawyer, life coach, family law mediator, and author, Annabel seeks to empower, educate and encourage women with thyroid conditions to develop their own thyroid-friendly lifestyle approach to their health so they can thrive and not just survive. She hosts a successful podcast, Let’s Talk Thyroid, which seeks to spread thyroid awareness and information, and is active on social media to spread positive & practical thyroid-related information. Annabel's latest book, Let’s Talk Thyroid: Positive & Practical Thyroid Help is all about how to live a thyroid-friendly lifestyle. While there is no magic “happy thyroid” formula or protocol, you’ve got to start somewhere. This book is that somewhere.

In this conversation, Annabel and I discuss her journey with Hashimoto’s, how her quality of life has changed since taking a holistic view of her thyroid health, what you can do to avoid overwhelm and slowly incorporate positive changes, her four pillars for good health, the importance of stress management, how to manageably reduce your toxic load, and more. Enjoy the episode!
