Save My Thyroid: Healing Tips for Hyperthyroidism and Hashimoto's
If you have hyperthyroidism (Graves' disease, toxic multinodular goiter, etc.) or Hashimoto's thyroiditis and are looking to do everything to save your thyroid gland, then the Save My Thyroid podcast is for you! Dr. Eric Osansky DC, IFMCP is the host, as he personally was diagnosed with Graves' disease in 2008 and was able to get into remission taking a natural approach. He created this podcast to help others with hyperthyroidism and Hashimoto's save their thyroid and regain their health. If you have hyperthyroidism then pretty much all of the episodes will benefit you, and if you have Hashimoto's you'll benefit from most of the guest expert episodes, as well as some of the "solo" episodes. The reason there is more of a focus on hyperthyroidism is because all of the other thyroid-related podcasts focus mostly on hypothyroidism/Hashimoto's, and since Dr. Eric personally dealt with Graves' disease he wanted this podcast to focus more on hyperthyroidism, although it will still offer plenty of value to those with hypothyroidism/Hashimoto's. Dr. Eric Osansky lives in Matthews NC with his wife, 2 daughters, 3 cats, 2 dogs, and 3 guinea pigs! He has been a practitioner for 20+ years, and has focused on helping people with thyroid and autoimmune thyroid conditions since 2009.

Discussing Thyroid Physiology with Dr. Eric Balcavage
We all have stress in our lives, whether physical, chemical, emotional, or microbial, and how we deal with that stress makes a huge difference in how our bodies respond. A lot of what we see with thyroid physiology is an adaptive response to some type of excessive stress response.
Getting well is not about how many supplements you take; it’s about finding a balanced approach to diet, nutrition, sleep, respiration, and exercise. We can support thyroid recovery by identifying and reducing the underlying stressors and addressing the foundational elements of good health.
Today, I’m excited to discuss thyroid physiology with Dr. Eric Balcavage. Dr. Eric Balcavage is the owner and founder of Rejuvagen, a functional medicine clinic in Chadds Ford, PA, and a nationally recognized speaker and educator on various health-related topics, including thyroid physiology, bile physiology, detoxification, oxidative stress, methylation, and chronic illness.
In this conversation, Dr. Eric and I discuss his journey into functional medicine, his perspective on thyroid health, the importance of identifying and addressing underlying stressors, limitations of the allopathic approach to treating thyroid disorders, Dr. Eric’s approach to thyroid hormone testing, the role of breathing and carbon dioxide in oxygenation, why we must look at lab markers in a bigger context, and more. Enjoy the episode!
